My adrenaline starts pumping when a Bride thinks they are asking the impossible - to source the very best exciting, new wedding destination for their wedding. I have spent the past six years sourcing historic houses, private villas, hotels and everything from mountain top retreats to idyllic beach houses all over the world for the most discerning brides.
I know what works at a destination and when not to promise the impossible. I take the space and convey through intricate drawings, imagery and computer generated designs how it can be transformed to create a magical, unforgettable wedding celebration.
I am always asked for the latest undiscovered places, some hidden gem which none of the guests will have heard of or been to. Sometimes I am asked the impossible... is Buckingham Palace available for weddings?, do you think we could close Regents Street to build a marquee on the side of Libertys?. These requests are rare but I always think that it shows huge creativity if the bride and groom are looking outside the box for a truly unique destination.
We are so blessed in the UK to have magical historic building and places of great natural beauty to host wedding celebrations. We also have some of the best suppliers in the world, companies who can build marquees on the sides of mountains, florists who design and create amazing floral sculptures from tiny perfect blooms and quite simply the very best catering companies who serve top class cuisine to large numbers of guests from temporary kitchens. I have experienced using suppliers all over the world and I am always so proud to be able to show off how well we do things when I take my UK team with me to organise an overseas wedding.
International wedding celebrations are always very special as the fact that they are overseas creates a fun holiday atmosphere and provide the opportunity to spread the celebration over a number of days. These benefits can of course can also be the cause of wedding nightmares if the organisation is anything less than meticulous and the mix and placement of guests hasn't been thought through very carefully. Without a wedding planner international destination weddings can be incredibly time consuming and expensive. Suppliers and hotels may cease on the opportunity to impose excessive mark ups on their services and the very unscrupulous suppliers can take your money and run - try tracking down a photographer in Morocco who has banked your deposit and then stops returning emails!
There are quite literally hundreds of thousands in not millions of wedding destinations worldwide. Following an intial consultation The Wedding Design Company will suggest a list of the very best in your chosen country or countries and check availability and cost. There is a charge for the service but it is refundable if we are chosen to organise the wedding planning and design. Sourcing destinations is our passion and whatever the brief we will find the ultimate dream location.
